FAQ — Rush Online Notarization & Loan Signings

Everything you need to know about remote online notarization and loan signings with Atlas Global Notary.

What is Remote Online Notarization (RON)?
Remote Online Notarization (RON) is a legal process that lets a licensed notary public perform notarizations via live two-way video call. The notary verifies your identity in real time, witnesses your electronic signature, and applies an official digital seal — all without you leaving your home or office. RON documents carry the same legal weight as traditionally notarized paper documents.
Is RON legal in my state?
Yes — remote online notarization is accepted in all 50 continental U.S. states. Over 45 states have enacted their own RON legislation, and the remaining states accept notarizations performed under another state's RON law (including Florida). Atlas Global Notary is Florida-commissioned, and documents we notarize under Florida RON law are legally valid nationwide and internationally for most purposes.
What ID do I need for a remote online notarization?
You need a current, unexpired government-issued photo ID. Accepted forms include a driver's license, state-issued ID card, or passport. Both sides of a driver's license or state ID may be required for the identity verification scan. Expired IDs are not accepted — if your ID is expired, renew it before booking your session.
What documents can I notarize online?
Most document types are eligible for RON: acknowledgments, jurats, affidavits, powers of attorney, deeds (in states that allow e-recording), real estate closing documents, loan documents, legal agreements, immigration forms, healthcare directives, and business contracts. The primary exceptions are last wills and testaments in some states, which may still require in-person notarization or witnesses — check your state's requirements if you're notarizing a will.
How long does a session take?
Most sessions take 5–15 minutes from start to finish. The typical flow is: pay online → receive your session link by email → join the video call → complete identity verification → sign and notarize → download your finished document. Many clients have notarized documents in hand within 30 minutes of paying. No appointment needed.
What does it cost?
Remote online notarization is a flat $75 per session. That covers the entire session regardless of how many documents or signatures are needed — no per-document charges, no rush surcharge, no hidden fees. Loan signings are billed at the market rate set by the signing service or title company.
What hours are you available?
Atlas Global Notary is available 9AM–Midnight CST, 7 days a week — including weekends and most holidays. No appointment is needed for rush RON sessions. Loan signings can be scheduled for any day within those hours.
What technology do I need?
You need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with a working camera and microphone, a stable internet connection, and your document as a PDF. No software downloads are required — the session runs through a secure browser-based platform. You'll receive a session link by email; click it to join the live video call. Built-in laptop cameras and standard home Wi-Fi are fine for most sessions.
Is remote online notarization secure?
Yes. RON sessions use end-to-end encrypted video, identity verification through knowledge-based authentication (KBA) and credential analysis (ID scan), and the session is recorded and stored per Florida state law. The electronic seal applied to your document is tamper-evident — any post-notarization alteration is detectable. Your personal information is handled in accordance with applicable privacy regulations.
What if my state or document requires in-person notarization?
If your situation genuinely requires in-person notarization — for example, a will in a state that mandates in-person signing with physical witnesses — Atlas Global Notary offers mobile in-person notarization throughout South Florida (Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach counties). For clients outside Florida who cannot use RON, we'll let you know upfront rather than accept payment for a service we can't complete.
